Blocks: Fill and Clear is a strategic block puzzle inspired by the classic falling-block games, but without the falling. You are given random block shapes and place them anywhere on the board. Complete a full horizontal or vertical line and it clears, freeing up room and adding to your score.

What keeps it interesting is the range of modes. Classic is endless, Timed asks you to score as much as possible against the clock, and the Bombs mode makes you defuse bomb blocks before they go off. There is also a mode with unusual shapes and a Mixed mode for experienced players.

How to play Blocks: Fill and Clear

• You get random blocks that need to be placed on the playing field.
• Drag them into place with your mouse or finger.
• Fill a horizontal or vertical line to clear it and score points.
• Keep going until there is no room left for the pieces you are given.

General block puzzle tips:

• Keep a large open area free so that awkward big pieces always have somewhere to go.
• Clearing several lines at once usually scores better and opens more space than clearing one at a time.
• Look at all the pieces on offer before placing the first one, so you do not block the others.
